I am pleased with the information it contains

This book lives up to its title. I am pleased with the information it contains. Of course, with a book of this size, you can't expect it to be a complete substitute for numerous books on the subject, but for a single modest-sized book, I think it covers the subject matter well. It even gives important guidelines for handling materials and completed ammo. It also draws a distinction between different gunpowders, and how they relate to the frequency of needed gun cleaning; that is, some powders are more corrosive to the internals of the gun than others, hence necessitating cleaning of the gun within about 5 hours of firing. In a pinch, this information, I believe, can help you solve your personal ammo shortage. The one thing this book won't tell you how to make is the normal commercially produced smokeless powder, the kind the commercial ammo manufacturers load in commercially available ammo. He explains that that variety is both too dangerous for home manufacture, and too difficult technologically for home manufacture. The kinds of powder he describes how to make are therefore not as high quality as the powder that's put into commercially available ammo. In summary, it works, but it is not as good as the commercially available stuff. But, when you're plain out of ammo, this is where the book comes in handy. Something is better than nothing.

A simple Know-How Book...

I'll make this short and sweet. This is a good book for learning how to make your own ammunition, but is not for the true beginner. This book does have some useful tips, but there are much easier ways to re-load than is processed here. Over-all, however, it is a well written book.

It doesn't tell you how to make ammo.

It tells you how to make improvized gunpowder (like you didn't already know), but no instructions on how to make brass cases, without which, there is nothing to reload or cache and there is no point owning anything other than musket...I bet the gun/ammo grabbers are quaking in their boots !
